FINAL MEAL

The Last Supper– Luke 22:7-38  Mark 14:12-31 Matthew 26:17-30   John 13:1-30

On His last night before laying down His life on the cross, Jesus chose to have dinner with His closest friends. He lived out sacrificial love even at this meal. In an act of love and humility, He washed His friends’ feet. Then He reinvented the Passover meal -offering bread and wine that we call communion today. He invited the disciples to partake. He invites us as well… Let’s consider taking communion as we read through these verses. Let it take more time than normal- for this is not like any other night. Consider what true love and selfless leadership look like when Jesus is our model.

WORSHIP THROUGH
MUSIC

PRAYER FOCUS

Jesus, teach me your brand of humility. I welcome your hand  to cleanse me. I welcome your hand to guide and correct me. I welcome your hand to hold me near with  comfort and encouragement. Show me how best to love and serve.

PROGRESSIVE FAST

Same as Tuesday plus remove one meal.

Children should only be doing BASELINE fast.

FAMILY FOCUS

Read through or have the Bible app narrate the verses from the Last Supper account. Listen as a family. Pray and ask God how you can love someone at the table. Do you need to forgive someone or ask forgiveness? Can you do something nice for anyone here? If Jesus can wash feet (and they were dirty!) then surely I can help with dishes, right?

After everyone has a chance to consider this, each person who has received Jesus as their personal LORD and Savior, can take communion together.
