GUATEMALA

Dear Family and Friends,

Our family is excited to tell you about Oakhouse Church’s upcoming mission trip to Guatemala, which we are privileged to be a part of! The three of us, along with 7 other Oakhouse members, will be traveling to Cobán (central Guatemala) for one week at the end of June. Oakhouse Church has partnered with the global organization, Food for the Hungry, to assist and serve some of the most vulnerable people in the country. 

This is a great opportunity for our church to continue to explore and foster the global partnership in Guatemala while also building on the already established relationships. We will be serving in the community of Chimox, located outside the city of Cobán. This region is home to some of Guatemala’s most vulnerable people who are in need of health services, hope for their future, and the love of Jesus. Food for the Hungry is working year-round with community leaders and local churches to meet these needs. We will come alongside them to assist with projects in the surrounding villages.

In addition to helping out with various construction projects, we will also lead a Vacation Bible School and spend time visiting and praying with families through home visits. We are looking forward to the relational aspect of the trip because that is key in making an impact on poverty. We want to show the people of Guatemala that God has not forgotten them, and neither have we.
