GUATEMALA
June 22nd-28th, 2025
Dear Family and Friends,
The last week of June, our family has the opportunity to join a team from our church, Oakhouse, to visit and support our global partner Food for the Hungry in Guatemala. We will be in villages just outside the town of Coban in central Guatemala. This is a partnership we’ve been involved with for the last 7 years or so by way of child sponsorship. We are looking forward to engaging in a new way by being there in person. We hope to help in any way we can and to bear witness to all the amazing ways God is working in and through the people of Guatemala.
While we’re there we will be going to villages and working alongside the team from Food for the Hungry who live and support these villages day to day. We will be doing a small construction project, visiting and praying for people in their homes, and engaging with the school children by running a Vacation Bible School. The Food for the Hungry team will be with us the whole time leading our team by showing us where we can be of most help and working as our translators.
Although we will be going, we would like to invite you to partner with us in a couple of ways and to join our team in this ministry effort. First and most importantly, we need your prayer support. Please pray:
For our team's safety while traveling to and while in Guatemala
For strength, patience, and flexibility as we assist in whatever is needed
For our team to raise the funds needed to support the team's expenses
For the people that we meet, that we can establish relationships and pass on our joy and hope
For the pastors and churches in Guatemala to be encouraged and strengthened
Second, if God calls you to participate financially in this ministry effort, we have committed to raising $1,750 each. If you want to donate to our trip, please use the donation button on this page.
Please note that donations are tax-deductible and non-refundable. All donations will go towards the overall cost of the trip. Any excess funds will first help cover the team's costs and, secondly, be gifted to the ministry we will serve.
We feel lucky to be able to do this as a family. There is no doubt that the three of us will be changed by this experience.
Thank you for your support,
